The history of our hotel in Carinthia
The history of the Thermenhotel Karawankenhof dates back to the early 19th century. In 1810, an inn was built next to the Thermal-Heilbad (the ThermenResort Warmbad-Villach). In 1965, the establishment was renovated, expanded, and operated as a four-star family hotel. In the spring of 2010, the hotel in Villach was completely rebuilt and re-opened in 2012. Ever since, it has been pampering guests from near and far with an extensive sports and wellness programme, an easy-going atmosphere, and pure relaxation.
Understated elegance
The thermal spa hotel in Austria is characterised by its large windows, jagged-rock-inspired architecture, clean lines, and pops of colour. Nature was the biggest source of inspiration for the design. The open spaces provide pleasant natural light, and the large windows offer a view of the KärntenTherme thermal spa. The hotel and the spa form an architectural whole and are connected via a lit indoor bridge.
